President Jokowi Responds Positively to SBY’s Dream of Riding a Train Together
President Joko Widodo gave a positive response to the dream of the sixth President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY). SBY had dreamed of riding a train with President Jokowi and the fifth President, Megawati Soekarnoputri, from Jakarta to Central and East Java. “Yes, that’s good,” said President Jokowi in response to a media question, quoted from BPMI Setpres’s written statement on Tuesday (20/6/2023). According to President Jokowi, SBY’s dream of being in the same carriage with him and Megawati means that all national leaders work together to build Indonesia.
SBY’s Dream Journey with Presidents Jokowi and Megawati
In SBY’s dream, the three leaders first met up at his residence in Cikeas, West Java, before heading to Gambir Station in Central Jakarta. There, they met with the eighth President who was elected in the 2024 election and had already bought tickets for their train journey. After sharing a cup of coffee, SBY, Jokowi, and Megawati boarded the Gajayana train and greeted Indonesian citizens with warmth during the trip to their destinations. In Solo, Central Java, SBY and Jokowi exited the train, while Megawati continued on to Blitar, East Java, to visit the grave of Bung Karno.

When asked about SBY’s dream, President Jokowi said that it was a dream that all Indonesians shared. He added that if presidents and former presidents worked together, they could build the country and make the dream a reality.
The dream journey of the three presidents served as a reminder that the spirit of cooperation and unity is essential to building a strong and prosperous nation.
